1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
a) Information you provide to us
- Account & profile information: name, business/trade name, email address, phone number, WhatsApp number, password, mailing/service address or zip code, service category, service zones, hours of operation, and short bio.
- Photos and media: business photos or images you upload to your public profile.
- Licensing information: state license numbers, where applicable to your trade.
- Job postings: job titles, descriptions, pay, and schedule details you submit to the job board.
- Payment information: Pro membership subscriptions and job posting fees are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number — Stripe handles this in accordance with its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS standards.
- Communications: messages you send us for support, and information you provide if you opt in to SMS/WhatsApp lead notifications.
b) Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages viewed, links clicked, device/browser type, and approximate location (derived from IP address), collected through our hosting and analytics providers.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 4 below.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create, display, and manage your public business profile and job postings.
- To connect you with potential clients or, if you are a client, to help you find and contact local professionals.
- To send you leads, account notifications, and service-related SMS/WhatsApp or email messages you've opted into.
- To process payments, manage subscriptions, and administer the Founder Offer rate.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site.
- To communicate with you about your account or respond to support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Publicly, on your profile: business name, category, service zones, hours, bio, photos, license status, and contact method are shown to visitors of the Site by design, since the purpose of a listing is to be found by clients.
- Service providers: we use third-party vendors to operate the Site, including Google Firebase (hosting, database, authentication, storage), Stripe (payment processing), and Meta (Meta Pixel, for advertising analytics — see Section 4). These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually restricted from using it for their own purposes.
- Clients who contact you: when a client reaches out through your listed WhatsApp number, phone number, or email, your contact details are used for that direct communication.
- Legal & safety: if required to comply with a subpoena, court order, or applicable law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Trades & Gigs, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: if Summit Supply and Contractors, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
| Category | Purpose | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keep you logged in, remember your session, secure the Site | Firebase Authentication session cookies |
| Analytics & Advertising | Understand traffic and measure ad performance | Meta Pixel |
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Site (such as your dashboard) from working correctly. California residents can also use the link in Section 6 to limit certain advertising uses.
5. Your Privacy Rights (All Users)
Regardless of where you live, you may:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request that we correct inaccurate information.
- Request that we delete your account and associated personal information, subject to legal or legitimate business retention needs (such as billing records).
- Opt out of promotional SMS/WhatsApp or email messages at any time (reply STOP, or use the unsubscribe link/dashboard setting).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at tradesandgigs@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request.
6. Additional Rights for California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA"), gives you the following additional rights with respect to your personal information:
- Right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we've collected about you, the sources, the business purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom it's shared.
- Right to delete personal information we've collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of tools like the Meta Pixel may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA. You can opt out using the link below or by contacting us.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
- Right to designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information — to exercise this right, email tradesandgigs@gmail.com with the subject line "CCPA Opt-Out" or "CCPA Request," along with your name and the email/phone number associated with your account. We will respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days, with a possible 45-day extension).
In the past 12 months, the categories of personal information we've collected fall into these CCPA categories: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address); commercial information (subscription and payment history); internet/network activity; geolocation data (approximate, from zip code/IP); photographs; and professional information (license numbers, business category).
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, and afterward for as long as reasonably necessary to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
8. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted connections and access-controlled cloud infrastructure (Google Firebase), to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
